Although it might seem quiet, things have been busy here at the studio.
Here are some of the projects currently underway at Blackberry Lane:

First volume of the equine color books

The first volume of the horse color books, The Equine Tapestry -
Horse Breeds, Their History and Their Colors
is due to be
published in late summer of 2011. The first in a series of three books,
it will cover the draft and carriage breeds. (Later volumes will cover
ponies/small horses and light breeds respectively.)

Launch of the New Blog
(as part of the book series on horse color)

Although the books have not yet been released, the blog for discussing
the information in the books is already running and active!

Presentation on Horse Color
July 15 -16, 2011 at BreyerFest in Lexington, Kentucky

I'll be returning to BreyerFest after several years away with a presentation
on basic coat color genetics on Friday, and another on color mythology
(pictured below, previously presented at BOYCC) on Saturday.

Elsie and Oliver

No, they haven't been forgotten!  Elsie and her foal Oliver are
scheduled for formal release later this summer, after the book
goes to press and studio work can return (somewhat) to normal.
