Over the years I have written quite a few articles on horse color.  Most of these articles were written for equine artists interested in creating realistic finishes for the model horse show ring, but some horsemen have found the explanations in them useful as well. 

Although some of the information is a little dated, I've started converting those old articles to PDF files for those that might still find them useful.  In the future, I hope to revisit some of the older articles and discuss some of the newer information.

A Study of White Horses - Not What They Seem
(Note that since this article was written in 1997, Dominant White has been confirmed in horses.  So while some white horses carry two copies of the Sabino1 gene, other white-born horses are Dominant White.
Genetic tests are available for both genes.)
