In 2000, Sarah and I got the idea that it might be fun to combine our upcoming trips to the Pour Horse Pottery. We weren't sure Joan could take both of us at once. We suspected her brain might explode from all our "well why can't we..." and "well, what if we..." questions. But she survived and seven years (and a lot of cool horses) later, it has become an annual event for the three of us to get together. This year we decided to move our gathering place to Boise, so we could break in Sarah's new ceramics studio. Needless to say, her new workspace is now thoroughly broken in!
Sarah, telling Joan to turn Coast to Coast back on or she'll have to show her how well she uses an electric carving knife. (When not being used to motivate friends, it does a great job cutting shipping foam.)
This one is from our field trip over to Lynn's studio. Here I'm using a slab cutter to make tiles for the tile press. For some reason, using this simple tool completely evaded me!
Here Lynn instructs Sarah on how to use her homemade tile press. It was great aerobic exercise - and much easier for me to master than the slab cutter! |
